Pacific Sailing Ltd began in 2005 to cater to the needs of owners of private vessels in & around Auckland. For the past 20 years we have managed & maintained a variety of luxury vessels, tailoring the level of service to whatever is required.
Meet the team below.
The Captain
Mark has been at sea since an early age when he would accompany his father on his Bertram Sports Fisherman to ply the waters around Capetown. After a stint in the South African Navy as a Leading Seaman, he set off to sail the world & soon after met Carolyn. They spent another decade at sea together, gaining qualifications along the way as Mark worked his way up the ranks to become a Superyacht Captain. Today, Mark is an Ocean Yachtmaster & a Commercial Launchmaster with tens of thousands of sea miles under his belt & a world of knowledge & experience behind him. He is doing what he loves & knows best whether on the dock splicing a line, or out cruising the Hauraki Gulf. As you can imagine, it's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
Office Manager
Carolyn was already sailing the world when she met Mark, & soon they were crewing together meeting the high standards required on superyachts. After also gaining her Ocean Yachtmasters & a world of experience, she eventually convinced Mark to sail home to NZ & put down roots, with the promise that they wouldn't be leaving their sea life behind. Once settled, they soon found a niche in managing private vessels & Pacific Sailing was created. Carolyn now runs the office, managing all that's needed behind the scenes, while trying not to be too distracted by the view of the upper harbour outside her office window.
Crew
Dominik & co are the team that keep your vessels washed & polished to perfection. They scrub decks, polish hulls & attend to the small details that often need attention. With over a decade of experience in the interior cleaning business, Dom's training & leadership ensures his team understands the level of care required to keep your investment looking great & in top condition. They are also capable crew, assisting when Mark needs an extra hand on deck for boat maneuvering.
Subcontractors
Over the past twenty plus years, we have created good working relationships with other businesses within the Marine Industry, from suppliers & engineering services to specialty cover companies. This translates to fast, efficient & quality service whenever needed. Whether that is for regular repairs & maintenance or major upgrades, it is all seen to by the best in the industry while under Mark's watchful eye.
